FAQ’s
Who is this course for?
This course is for couples who want to deepen their connection, improve communication, and build a more intentional, fulfilling relationship—whether you’ve been together for years or are just starting out. It’s designed for those who are willing to show up, reflect, and grow together, with practical tools and supportive guidance along the way. All relationship structures, backgrounds, and seasons are welcome.
What is the structure of a module/ course?
Each module is centred around a key relationship theme—like communication, intimacy, trust, or emotional regulation—and includes a 90-minute experiential workshop (not a lecture!), real-time connection practices, and engaging exercises you can revisit anytime. You'll also receive curated resources, reflection prompts, and optional reading to deepen the learning. Modules are self-paced, but we’ve intentionally layered in live group sessions, whatsapp support, and a 1:1 session with us to ensure you feel held and supported throughout the journey.
What is my weekly commitment to the course?
We recommend setting aside around 2–3 hours per week. This includes watching the 90-minute workshop, exploring the connection practices, and reflecting with your partner using the prompts and exercises. But this is your journey—so you can move at your own pace. Some couples choose to dive deep each week, while others spread the content out more slowly. The course is designed to fit real life, not disrupt it.
Do we need to attend all the sessions together?
Yes—we strongly recommend that you experience the course together. This isn’t just content to consume; it’s an active, relational process built around shared practice, honest reflection, and mutual growth. The tools, conversations, and connection rituals are designed to be done as a couple, so showing up together will help you get the most out of the journey. If life gets in the way occasionally, you can always catch up with the replay—but the real impact comes from being in it together.
What if we miss a session?
The workshops are self-paced, so you can go through them at a time that works for you—there’s no need to worry about missing those. The only live sessions are the Q&A sessions, and if you can’t attend one, you can always submit questions in advance, and we’ll address them during the session. You’ll have access to the replay of the Q&A, so you can catch up and stay engaged with the support and guidance we provide.
Can we get a refund if we change our mind?
As our course is a digital product, we don’t offer refunds once you’ve enrolled. However, we’re fully committed to supporting you throughout your journey. If you have any questions or concerns before signing up, we’re happy to help clarify any details to ensure the course is the right fit for you.
Are sessions live or pre-recorded?
The core workshops are pre-recorded, allowing you to go through them at your own pace and revisit them whenever you need. However, we offer live Q&A sessions where you can ask questions, engage with us directly, and connect with other couples. These live sessions are a chance for real-time support and personalized guidance.
What if one of us is late?
We recommend joining the sessions on time to make the most of the experience, but we understand things happen! If you’re late, no worries—our live Q&A sessions will be recorded, so you can catch up on anything you missed. The pre-recorded workshops can be accessed anytime, so you’re free to pause, rewind, and go through the content at your own pace.
Is everything confidential?
Yes, we encourage privacy and respect among couples. While the pre-recorded workshops are for you to engage with privately, during the live Q&A sessions and in the WhatsApp group chats, there will be other couples. We encourage you to share as much as you feel comfortable with, but please note that we cannot guarantee complete confidentiality in these group spaces. We aim to create a supportive and respectful environment where everyone feels safe to share at their own discretion.
Do we need to share personal details with the group?
No, sharing personal details with the group is completely optional. The course is designed to provide you with tools and practices to strengthen your relationship privately. During the live Q&A sessions and WhatsApp chats, you are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Your level of participation is entirely up to you, and you’re always in control of what you disclose.
Will we receive course materials?
Yes! Throughout the course, you'll receive a range of materials to support your learning and growth. This includes downloadable worksheets, reflection prompts, connection exercises, curated reading, and access to recorded sessions. These materials are designed to deepen your understanding and provide tools you can revisit whenever you need a relationship boost.
Can I contact the facilitator outside of sessions?
Yes, you can reach out to us during the course through our Telegram group, where we offer ongoing support and answer any questions you may have. For more personalized guidance, you also have access to a 1:1 session with us. While we’re here to support you, we ask that you respect our boundaries by using these designated channels for communication during the course.
Is this course a replacement for therapy?
No, this course is not a replacement for therapy. It is designed to complement and support your relationship through practical tools, communication strategies, and emotional awareness. While we are trained psychotherapists and bring a therapeutic depth to the course, it is not a substitute for individualized therapy, especially if you are dealing with significant relational challenges or trauma. If you feel you need therapy, we encourage you to seek professional support alongside the course.
Who will be facilitating the course?
The course will be facilitated by Alexandra Tarr and Mahayla Marriott, co-founders of It's You and I. We are both trained psychotherapists with years of experience helping individuals and couples build intentional, fulfilling relationships. We blend therapeutic insight with coaching clarity, always grounded in real-life relationship dynamics, to guide you through every step of the course.
